About Rebecca
If you've ever thought about trying something hard but weren't sure you could do it, you're my kind of person.
I'm Rebecca, aka Becks on the run, and this page is where I'll document my journey to the Boston Marathon as a member of the Vanessa T. Marcotte Foundation team.
The Foundation envisions a world where women can live free from objectification and harassment. Through advocacy, education, safety awareness, and programs that promote gender equality, the foundation works to help women live boldly and fearlessly. Vanessa's legacy continues through workshops, mentorship programs, and efforts that empower women and girls while helping build a safer future for everyone.
Along the way, I'll share training updates, fundraising efforts, lessons learned, and the reality of preparing for a marathon.
My goal isn't to pretend I have everything figured out. It's to show that ordinary people can do difficult things when they're willing to keep showing up, one step at a time.
Thank you for following along, supporting this mission, and helping make a difference.

Turns out you don't have to be exceptional to do hard things. You just have to be stubborn enough to keep trying.

The Vanessa T. Marcotte Foundation
On a summer afternoon, Vanessa Marcotte left her family home to go for a short walk. She was tragically killed by an act of violence. A male has been charged with murder.
More than 600 women are assaulted each day. We need to fight back. We need to step up. We need to advocate for a world where women are safe and free to live boldly and fearlessly.
